We congratulate the Seawanhaka Corinthian YC on their win, this went to the last scheduled race of round robin 3 (last race of the regatta) -- SCYC inched out NYYC in a multiple lead-change race. SCYC now leads NYYC in having won the Jackson Cup 5 times, vs NYYC's 4 times in the history of the regatta. My guess is they are back for more next year to see who manages to take home the title!

Seawanhaka Corinthian YC wins the 2013 15th Annual Jackson Cup
2013 Results: Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club regains the honors for 2013, their fourth Jackson Cup win. Seven teams competed for the trophy in Marblehead Harbor on April 27 and 28, 2013. Shifty winds of 5-10 kts coming from the South through the East both days settled into a sea breeze late morning.

The Jackson Cup, named in honor of the late Past Commodore Dr. Robert F. Jackson,(1993-'94), is an annual invitational team race challenge by the Boston Yacht Club to other clubs and organizations. The teams selected for the challenge are chosen for having demonstrated high racing skill and the Corinthian spirit. The event was inaugurated in 1999 and is held in April each year. It is sailed in Sonar class boats in Marblehead Harbor.
The Skippers representing the Boston are reflective of our traditions and visions as a Yachting Club. Our Team Captain, Tyler Doyle will be joined by Tomas Hornos and Charlie Quigley. This team will be competing against nationally ranked Clubs as they sail in the 15th Annual Invitational Jackson Cup. So please come on down to the Club and cheer for your team!
Eight teams of three will race with one or two round robins followed by a medal round to keep everyone racing over the two days. This year the teams are: The Boston Yacht Club, Eastern Yacht Club, Larchmont Yacht Club, New York Yacht Club, Royal Thames Yacht Club, Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club, St. Francis Yacht Club, and the Southern Yacht Club.
