Friday Sep. 15 Cruise Reunion

Dear Fellow Members,

The BYC Annual Cruise plans are well underway.  The dates are set and the Ports we will visit have all been secured with those ports standing by to take your reservations.  The Cruise Committee has selected a name for this year’s cruise and it is MAINELY CRUZAN.  We even have a logo for the cruise Tee Shirts.  All sounds good you are saying to yourself and it sounds like fun you are thinking.  Well you are right on both counts.  I have been on well over 30 of the BYC Cruises and every single one of them has been a blast.

At this point we have 14 boats signed up and we would really like to share this great experience with more cruisers or folks who have often toyed with the idea of doing a cruise but simply never got around to it.  If that is you then pull the trigger this year and get yourself to our website and sign up!

Better yet: find one of your boating buddies (whether a BYC Member or not) and get them to sign up too.  It doesn’t make any difference if you have a power boat or a sail boat.

We have plenty of each in this year’s cruise fleet.  It doesn’t make any difference if you (or perhaps your better half) are a bit concerned about your navigational ability or your boat handling skills: we have plenty of good navigators signed up and many skilled boat handlers as well.  And one of the best parts about a BYC Cruise is that everyone is always willing to help out and share their knowledge or skills with anyone else!

Another plus for this year’s cruise is that all of the ports are short hauls!  Once we get to Portland all the other ports are literally only a few miles away.  With Portland and then coming home the only long legs on the cruise, the Committee has even set up Rally Legs with intermittent stops that basically cut those long legs in half!  See………..we are always thinking about our fellow cruisers!

So that is where we stand at the moment.  We are two and a half months from departure and we really want you to take the plunge and give cruising a try.  I promise that you will never regret it!
